This class is designed for students with digital point-and-shoot cameras. Learn how to look at common photo situations and know what to do to get better pictures with your point-and-shoot compact digital camera. See how exploring your camera features is often necessary to improve the shot. Class covers using lighting around you, tips on good composition, positioning you and your subject, focusing and getting the right exposure so your subjects are not too dark or too light.

INTRODUCTION TO PICASA
Picasa is a free photo-editing application by Google that for simple editing and organizing. This is a Hand-On class. No need to bring your lap top computer as we will provide everything needed for the class. Learn the basics, including how to import photos from your camera or computer and see how easy it is to get organized. Picasa is handy for cropping photos to a specific size, fixing red eyes, and applying effects to your photos. Students should already be familiar with basic computer concepts.

INTRODUCTION TO HIGH DYNAMIC RANGE (HDR) PHOTOGRAPHY
The biggest challenge in photography has always been capturing the range of what the human eye can see in one single exposure. Prior to digital photography this was very hard if not impossible to do on a single frame of film. Now we are able to use our digital cameras and specialized software programs to combine the best parts of several exposures to create one image that mimics what the eye can see.
This two-session class we will explore the following:
